Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS) offer advantages for weight reduction and increase in crashworthiness and safety. Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS) are multi-phase steels which contain martensite, bainite and/or retained austenite. This microstructure enables high yield (min. 300 MPa) and tensile (min. 500 MPa) strength. The advanced high-strength steels (AHSS) that for several years have been mainstays in Tier One and OEM stamping facilities. Now these materials are making their way into many Tier Two and Tier Three stamping plants.
